Akua’s Masterpiece by Oladoyin Oladapo and Lynn Ma is the story of a little girl who receives a brand new camera. Throughout the story we see Akua come alive as she explores her community photographing it as she goes.
The best part of the story is learning how to handle mistakes as they happen. Sometimes we have to go with the flow of life and Akua learns how to do just that!. The illustrations by Abira Das are bright and colorful and flow with the story very well.
As a photographer myself, I love featuring books about children exploring photography (or any art). This book will make a great addition to any home or classroom library. I highly recommend picking up a copy or two!
