Celebrate Carnival with “The Carnival Prince”

February 12, 2018 in Raising Readers

Today’s review is The Carnival Prince by Daniel J. O’Brien.

This is a beautifully illustrated tale from Trinidad and Tobago. The boy with antlers is a wonderfully inspiring character, as we come to see from the book. From curious and shy to a great hero, is definitely a character my son could connect to. Another character The Midnight Robber made an excellent companion and friend throughout the duration of the story.
The illustrations were bright and colorful, bringing the story to life. The use of vibrant colors really captured the heart of Carnival!

This is the perfect chapter book for my 9-year-old to read alone. We read this as a read aloud so my youngest could hear the story as well and she loved it. This is a wonderful story for children of all ages to enjoy.
Check out @thecarnivalprince for more on this amazing story!

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
