As a parent, I always try to make sure that the foods I feed my children are high quality. I have been pretty fortunate that my kids will literally eat any and everything I put in front of them. I probably have the only kids in the world who cry because they didn’t have broccoli or green beans for dinner one evening.
When it comes to snack time, my diligence is just the same. My three year old loves to get creative with her snacks, so I was thrilled that we had the chance to try Bear Naked Custom Granola and create our own fun and tasty mix.
I let Sarah create her own mix which included:
Honey
Chocolate Chips
Freeze Dried Strawberries
Organic Sunflower Kernels
Plus a cool feature that we were able to try was to “bearify” Sarah and put her face on her container of Bear Naked Custom Granola! When it arrived she was so excited that she could hardly contain herself!
All of Bear Naked Custom‘s ingredients are Non-GMO Project Verified, who would have thought that the entire process of creating your own granola was going to be a blast. There are so many ingredients to choose from!
I made two other special blends:
Mama Bear Chocolate: Freeze Dried Pineapple Chunks, Pretzel Shorties, Salted Edamame
Good Time Ma Honey: Dried Pomegranate Arils, Sunflower Kernels, White Wine Flavor (it doesn’t actually contain alcohol).
Honestly, though, the best part was when I got my granola mix in the mail. As soon as it arrived, I immediately opened up to “taste test” each one!
Making your own granola blend is easy. It starts with choosing your base granola. You get three choices; honey, chocolate or cacao + cashew butter.
Once you chose your base, the real fun begins. You choose three ingredients from 50 different GMO-free ones. Not only does Bear Naked have quite a few different nuts to choose from and sweet choices like; dried cranberries, basil, cracked black pepper, dried fruit, freeze dried bananas, to add to your personal blend, but they have an amazing array of curated ingredients too like; freeze-dried jalapenos, edamame, pretzels, red or white wine flavor, basil, lavender, dried black olive and even beet powder.
If you are big on your food/snacks being savory, then Bear Naked has a great selection of spices and seasonings that you can add to your granola. Personally, I love my granola to be a whole lot of sweet with a little bit of savory!
I mentioned before how excited Sarah was to get bearified! Well, guess what? I jumped in and custom made a bear for my canister as well! When you create your own custom bear, you can also create a custom story for your bear as well!
Even if you don’t want your face dawned on a canister of granola, you can still choose which bear goes on the front, and each bear includes their own story, which will be on the back. This is such a cool extra that it’s such a great treat if you made one for each member of your family!
