If you are looking for something fun to do, on a family friendly budget-ala free, then try checking out your locate farmers or craft markets. Venturing out to Soda City has been a Saturday tradition for us for quite some time now. Locate on Main Street, Soda City is a market located in downtown Columbia, South Carolina.

Why is called Soda City?

Honestly, its taken me YEARS to finally put two and two together, but in short when you abbreviate Columbia, its “Cola”, thus you get Soda City.

What makes it great?

If you are looking for something fun to do, heading out to Soda City on Saturdays is perfect. There are so many vendors and so many tasty treats to try as well. Also with the market being near the Columbia Museum of Art, its a wonder opportunity to “make a day” out of exploring downtown Columbia.

If you are in Columbia, South Carolina why not give Soda City a visit? If you’ve been before how did you like it? Also be sure to drop me a line and let me know who some of your favorite vendors are!

Thanks to Nicole Caudle for all of the photos.
