If you think only first-time moms, exhibit signs of lunacy, well you’re wrong. Even veteran moms still have a bit of the FTM syndrome in them. Maybe not to the extent of what it’s like being a first timer, but some of the things are still there.
1. Overpacking the Diaper Bag: I suck at being able to judge just how many diapers I need; so you know what..I take 10 no matter what. Cloth diapers take up a lot of space…I mean a lot of space.
2. Underpacking the Diaper Bag: I always forget clothes and bibs..why? Because I am worried about diapers.
3. Checking to see if baby is alive: I admit this is why we co-sleep, it’s not because I have some inherent need to have her next me, or because I want to make it easier to breastfeed in the middle of the night (yes just rolling over and popping a boob in her mouth is awesome), I like to know that she is breathing. Yes, I could easily just get up and check on her, but when she is next to me I hear every single breath she makes and that makes it easier for me to relax.
Not to mention, I still check on my teenager at night as well. Not to make sure she is still breathing, but to make sure she isn’t on her phone.
Even with my 3-year-old, 5 years old, and 10-year old I sometimes check to make sure they are breathing. Why? Because I’m crazy.
4. Playing dress up: 3 kids later, I still play dress up. I know my kids aren’t my personal Barbie dolls or even little accessories, they are people, but they have so many cute clothes that it is absolutely wonderful to just dress up and snap pictures.
This is just what having kids does to you. It’s not a bad thing, but it can be pretty annoying as well.
