Lately, it’s been pretty difficult for me to hit the gym on a regular basis. But I have come up with some fun and creative ways to get and stay fit without going. There are many activities that you can do with friends, family, and your kids; so if you are having trouble building a consistent gym routine, these are some fun activities to get you motivated.
- Trampoline Park: I wrote about this activity last week and it is probably one of the most exciting. Trampoline parks can be a blast for the entire family. In those two hours, you can probably burn more calories than you would with a traditional beginner workout at the gym.
- Yoga: This is one workout that I can never get enough of. My favorite activity has been Bikram yoga (or hot yoga) that I started doing a few years back. Yoga is a great way to loosen up the body, increase flexibility, and improve your energy.
- Family Themed Workouts: One of our favorite activities is the Disney Family Workouts. It’s a chance for us to watch a movie while getting fit at the same time. This is also perfect if you have young kids who necessarily won’t sit still throughout an entire movie.
- Hiking: Living in the country has its advantages and disadvantages. While we don’t have a plethora of trails near us to choose from, but we do have one national park down the road from us with a great trail.
No matter how active I am, I recognize that I am getting older (ugh!). With that said, I do experience more aches and pains than normal after my daily workouts. Couple that with chasing after a toddler and preschooler all day long, there are some nights I just fall into bed with more pains than you can possibly imagine.
In order to help speed along my recovery for the next day, I normally take Epsom salt baths.
Benefits of Epsom Salt
Epsom salts are absorbed through the skin also work to relieve muscle tension, pain, and inflammation in joints. Since I can’t always hop into a full bath in the middle of the day, I decided to try out PROcure Epsom Salt Rub.
…concentrated spot treatment gel uniquely formulated with Aloe Vera and essential oils to soothe muscle tension, aches and pains.
If you want a natural way to take care of general aches and pains post workout, then I recommend giving the Epsom Salt Rub a try. This product contains aloe, which has 9 of the 10 minerals essential for muscle health and recovery. Aloe also penetrates the skin 4x better than water alone, allowing the restorative powers of Epsom Salt to reach painful areas quicker.
How to use
For the targeted relief of muscle tension, aches and pains, apply to affected area and massage until fully absorbed. Reapply as needed for continued relief.
HINT: For even more soothing relief, try covering the affected area with a warm compress after applying Epsom Salt Rub. Relax and let nature take its course.
