Thank you First Alert OneLink for sponsoring this post. Onelink Safe & Sound – Meet Your Family’s New Best Friend. #ONELINKSTORY
When it comes to keeping my family safe, I am always willing to go the extra mile.
We live in an older home, and although our home is fully equipped with smoke detectors, security alarms, and cameras, fire extinguishers (I told you I always do a little extra), we were still missing one thing.
A carbon monoxide detector.
What is carbon monoxide?
Carbon monoxide is an odorless, colorless, gas produced by any fuel-burning appliance. Some common gas producing appliances in the home include:
- Charcoal grills
- Fireplaces and woodstoves
- Fuel-fired furnaces (non-electric)
- Gas dryers
- Gas Stoves
- Gas water heaters
Onelink Safe & Sound
We were given the opportunity to try out the Onelink Safe & Sound. It’s an intelligent smoke & carbon monoxide alarm rolled into one with remote notifications that you receive on an app on your phone.
Another cool feature? It’s also a premium Bluetooth enabled home speaker, and you can communicate with your Amazon Alexa enabled device with it as well! This means that you can listen to music, news, or even audio books.
I also like that there’s also a nightlight if there’s to keep an area of our home illuminated. This comes in handy in the middle of the night for my 3 & 5 year old who get up to go to the bathroom.
The sleek modern design gives a much better look than typical smoke alarms, plus it blends in wonderfully with our home decor. Installation was easy and quick. My husband was able to simply hook the wires up the old alarm and he was done!
Now that we have this installed, I can honestly say, I have a whole new level of peace of mind! With four kids and baby number five expected in just a few short months, it makes me feel a lot better knowing that we have this box checked off!
Do you have a carbon monoxide detector installed in your home? What do you think of the Onelink Safe & Sound? Let me know in the comments below!
