I know this is several weeks late, but we were so busy around the holidays, that this one just slipped my mind. If you are a major Star Wars movie fan, then this film is a grade A MUST see! Rogue One was one of 2016’s most anticipated films, and in my opinion it didn’t let us us.
Touted as a standlone film, Rogue One falls right in between 2005’s Star Wars Episode III-Revenge of the Sith and the 1977 classic that started it all, Star Wars Episode IV-A New Hope. In this film, we learn how the Rebel Alliance came into possession of the Death Star plans that were the center focus of Episode IV. So If you have been following (or if you can’t follow)-this movie’s storyline is right after we see how Anakin became Darth, and right before Luke blows up the Death Star.
Is this film Family Friendly?
The short answer is yes. There is no need for parents to worry about nudity, profanity, or anything scary in this film. Unlike The Jungle Book, which was a little intense for younger viewers, Rogue One leans more in the safe zone if you have a youngster (ages 5-7) who is a major Star Wars fan. However, this film does deal with grief, the loss of a parent, and has a major and prolonged battle scene (however it is not bloody)-so if your child is sensitve, then you may want to exercise caution.
We took Andrew to see this film, as he is a major fan of the series and I will say he absolutely loved it! Don’t worry we won’t give away any spoilers! Keep reading for Andrew’s review.
As I stated if you are a major Star Wars fan, then in my opinion this film is an absolute must. I can’t give away too many details, but I am so impressed with how this film ties in with the other Star Wars films that by the end of the movie I was yelling “YASSSSS”. Okay, that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I was definitely jumping out of my seat and clapping with excitement.
