Be Mindful from Head to Toe

February 20, 2018 in Fashion

Through the years I have become more conscious of everything around me. This has impacted the nearly all of my purchases, from household goods and food to now my clothing.

Clothing?

Exactly.

Sustainable clothing is something that I only learned about last year, and once you try a few items, you will be hooked. I absolutely love prAna for this reason. By using materials from sustainable sources such as organic cotton, recycled wool, hemp, recycled polyester, and responsible down, you can be sure that at the end of the day, you can feel good about your clothing and the sources.

How I achieve mindfulness

It’s not easy, but I am actively working hard to incorporate more mindfulness activities into my day so that I can not only increase my overall happiness but to help me better focus.  I am often multi-tasking tenfold throughout the day, so much so that it is difficult to complete one task before moving on to the next. This often leads to high-stress levels, which is not something that I want (or need) in my life.

Being gentle with myself

I am good enough. That’s all there is to it.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

I have made it a point to practice more of what I preach to my kids: being kind to others and apologizing when I do make mistakes.

When I turned 34 I stopped caring what other’s thought about me and my life choices (like leaving chemical engineering to become a fulltime blogger). I spent more time loving me and those around me. Because in the end, that is what was important.

Pause

I am constantly doing everything for everyone else. So every now and then I have to tell myself to stop and focus on me. Self-care is a chance to ask ourselves what it is that “I” need and how do “I” feel. It’s a chance to sit and meditate on what makes me happy.

prAna’s newest line helps me to transition from the multi-tasking, run around all day mom to the woman who is able to sit back and relax with her favorite green juice.

My favorite is the Mantra Pant constructed from a Sutra Hemp and recycled poly blend. And the Ostara Top made with an organic cotton jersey blend and has natural odor reducing features.

prAna’s Spring 2018 has so much to offer with an amazing new fit to the classic yoga pant. Check out this video to learn more!

Do what makes you happy and the rest will follow. Do not get caught up in other peoples feelings about your life choices
