Take the Time to Stop & Smell the Roses

March 12, 2018 in Motherhood

Disclaimer: This post was sponsored by Twinings of London in partnership with the Mom It Forward Influencer Network. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

As I have gotten older, it has become easier for me to appreciate the phrase “stop and smell the roses.”

I am so used to constant hustle and bustle, that when I am able to take time and just “be” that it’s easy for me to now appreciate all of the slow moments in life that I used to abhor.

As the parent of four kids that range from 13 down to 3 years-old and an entrepreneur, I frequently get sidetracked and lost in all that I have to do. It even happens on vacation. I am so caught up in getting the perfect photo or video, that I miss experiences and the ability to indulge at the moment with the rest of my family.

Last week, I called my grandmother and asked her how did she manage it all. She told me one of her favorite things to do was to sit back and relax with a cup of hot tea. It was what her mother taught her. At 88 years old, my grandma is still full of precious gems and wisdom that I appreciate.

It’s the one moment where you can feel as if the world has stopped and used the opportunity to re-center yourself. I can sit and meditate, and appreciate all of the little things around me that I have (I have even learned to appreciate what I don’t have).

One of my favorite brands to go-to is Twinings of London.

For more than 300 years they have been providing quality teas in dozens of delicious blends and fusions.

Plus, Twining’s contains the finest ingredients sourced from all over the world. Their master blenders find only the best teas, spices, and herbs to create the perfect tea that we can all enjoy.

Here are a some of my favorite blends from Twinings of London

Lemon Delight

Brighten up your day with the fresh, uplifting taste of this lemon flavored tea. With ingredients expertly selected from Paraguay, Senegal, and Europe, it’s the perfect tea to start your morning with.

Berry Fusion

Blended together with rosehips, hibiscus, orange and blackberry leaves, this one-of-a-kind tea starts with ingredients expertly selected from Europe, South America, and Egypt. I typically love to enjoy this tea after dinner.

Buttermint

This tea has a creamy taste of this vanilla flavored peppermint, that helps to awaken your senses.

How to make your perfect blend

Twinings suggests the follow steps for brewing the perfect herbal tea:

  1. Use fresh cold water and bring water to boil.
  2. Pour over the tea bag as soon as it reaches boiling.
  3. Brew for 4 minutes or to desired taste.

Let’s share!  I want to see what your favorite blend is on social media using #BeYourBestBlend, be sure to tag @NatashaVBrown.
