The Countdown Is On!

February 5, 2018 in Brown at The Movies, Disney Movies, Entertainment

Last night I literally had my wig and soul snatched twice by Disney/Marvel/LucasFilms.

And it started with this tweet:

If you watched the Super Bowl, then you saw the teaser trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story and a new trailer for Infinity War.

Avengers: InifintyWar

Picture it: You’re in front of your television and all of sudden you hear the the Avengers theme song, and your 9 year old yell’s “MOM! COME QUICK IT’S A NEW TRAILER!”

That’s pretty much what happened in my house. You could hear the collective gasps and OMG!! from everyone, even our three year old. The visuals that have been released so far are ridiculously amazing! Every time I hear the slow version of the theme song, I lose my mind. I’m pretty sure Alan Silvestri did that on purpose right?

Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters May 4th!

Solo: A Star Wars Story

Finally after months of wondering who the cast was going to be in this film we know! There is no doubt in my mine that Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino) is Lando, but I am so excited to see Emilia Clarke (Game of Thrones) and Alden Ehrenreich (who I recognize from Supernatural), along with Woody Harrelson, this movie will not disappoint.

We have a running joke in our family that our dad raised us to be Jedi’s (he kind of did), but I absolutely love how this franchise has evolved into something that I am excited to see with my own kids! Rogue One broke the mold for me with Star Wars, and I feel it will be incredibly difficult to top that film. However, I have a feeling that Solo will do just that.

The film stars Alden Ehrenreich, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Thandie Newton, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Paul Bettany

This movie hits theaters May 25th!

When you've conquered everything in the Universe, what else is left? For Thanos in Thanos Wins, conquering the galaxy meant absolutely nothing without conquering his final enemy. In order to do that, he needs help, but from who? He's killed, everyone. Ask the most powerful beings in the Marvel Universe how they fear the universe will end, and in their most honest moment, they will answer with two words: "Thanos wins." And now, it looks as though that disturbing thought is about to become a horrific reality! See what happens when the Mad Titan gets his way! Will he cause the cosmos to spiral downward into chaos and death...or will something very different happen? As Thanos journeys to the end of time and his moment of complete victory, he still won't be happy with what he sees! Witness the Mad Titan's greatest glory - and ultimate shame! And no matter what form Thanos' victory takes, is there any way that anyone - or anything - can possibly survive? Series Review This series did not really appeal to me at first under the direction of the first creative team. But after Donny Crates took over, I decided to give it a try. I was not disappointed. While the pacing was a little slow around issues 16, by the time we got toe #17 things were back on track. The art The art throughout this series of comics is spectacular. Geoff Shaw along with colorist Antonio Fabela really bring this series to life with their stunning artwork. The scenes really jump off the page, coupled with fantastic dialogue, I couldn't help but want more. This series is dark, filled with bits and pieces of humor. We truly see the Mad Titan for what he is MAD. The lesson to be learned here: is winning at all cost worth it? Are you planning to see Infinity War when it's released? Let me know in the comments below.
