There is no denying that we have been thrust into an age of rapidly developing technology. From being able to see who is ringing your doorbell, to be able to turn on the lights in your home while vacationing in the Caribbean; every day new technology is introduce and in some way, it makes a major impact in our lives.
Not only are we as adults being thrust into the age of technology, but so are our kids. Just the other day I realized that my 4-year-old could work the Roku and find those crazy surprise egg videos on YouTube, without any help at all. It amazes me just how advanced my younger kids are with technology.
As parents, we want to make sure that our children are always using technology appropriately. Whether it is giving them their first smartphone at the age of thirteen, or buying them their own iPad; technology has so many wonderful benefits, and it is our job to ensure that our children are reaping all of the good ones, and just aimlessly texting or playing Crossy Road.
My kids are like most, they have enough toy to rival Toys R US, what’s even worse is that many of them are broken and useless right about now. As the kids have gotten older they have become more responsible with toys, which has led us to purchase them more electronic devices. My nine year old has seen the most improvement, he even reminds his little sisters that if they want “the good stuff”, they have to learn to take care of things as they should.
When deciding on the right electronics to purchase for our son, we decided that not only did we want items that would be fun, but something that peaked his interest in STEM. Being an engineering family, we have always done things such as make homemade circuit boards to introduce them to technology.
When we first heard about WowWee Robots, we wanted something that would not only keep my son engaged but that allowed him to learn to program and become more familiar with technology and various ways to use it. Coding is an important skill, and for years we have had the kids practice by creating their own games and just learning the age-appropriate basics.
We had the chance to try out the Minion Mip-Turbo Dave, and it has been a major win for us by giving us everything we were looking for and more. Turbo Dave allows for app pairing for robotic programming and AR experience through gameplay. WowWee provides the only full experience robotic Minion that brings the Minion world to life.
Turbo Dave is so full of personality that even our pet boxer was intrigued!
My kids absolutely love any and everything about the Minions. So we picked out the Minion MiP for him to try out. What I love about this particular toy is that it not only teaches them early STEM concepts, but it’s also packed with fun and games. The MiP is a self-balancing robot that speaks MinioneseTM the official Minion language. One of the coolest features? The MiP responds to clapping and hand gestures, and can be controlled from the Turbodave app on your compatible smartphone or tablet!
While all of that is awesome, I have to say for my kids the best part is that he even has his own Fart Blaster!
