As a girl dad, when it comes to playtime, it can get very creative in our home. However, more often than not, that playtime will include dolls! With so many toys around our home, there are very few that are honestly as versatile. A doll can literally become anything. There are days when it will be a baby, others it’s a truck or even an airplane.
The beauty of a doll is that I am able to watch my girls’ imagination go where it wants to without limits.
Dolls are the perfect toys to teach empathy as well. It can be a great way to roleplay situations, talk about feelings or simply learn how to care for something. More often than not, we find ourselves babysitting dolls, so the girls can go outside and play with friends! They have also been a great way to get the girls to express themselves through playtime.
Lastly, when they find the perfect doll, it becomes a sidekick they can lean on in a variety of ways. From tackling monsters under the bed or just being there so they can cuddle, dolls can do it all!
Being the dad of four girls means I spend a lot of time playing tea parties and playing with dolls. I am always looking for fun dolls that my girls will love to play with.
