Thank you Vacasa for sponsoring this post. Find your Vacasa home for the Summer today!
We use summer as a way to experience a new place and embrace some adventure. Having five kids means that not only do I have to intentional on where I plan trips for us (as fun as the Lego Museum sounds, somehow, I don’t think my teenager would be into it), but I also have to take into account the size of my family when making accommodations.
Since we are a family of seven, vacation rentals have been our go-to during our family getaways. Vacasa is our one-stop shop for vacation rentals for when we want to explore the next southern hidden gem!
One of my favorite perks that when you book with Vacasa, you get more than a vacation rental—you get professional service you can count on. I don’t have to worry, because if anything goes wrong, the Vacasa team will be there for us throughout the entire vacation, with a 24/7 customer care team and local staff who are here for you when you need them.
One of our favorite cities to visit is Savannah, GA. Its beautiful town, that has so much to offer families, and being able to take in the views and history is something that my family enjoys.
Since Savannah is such a short drive for us, it’s one of our go-to destinations for family vacations!
We can even find homes that provide our kids with a comfortable place to kick back and relax!
How Vacasa Fits Into Pre-Trip Planning
As I stated above I am very intentional with how I plan our trips. There are several factors that I include, and most importantly I have to budget and calculate everything down to a “T”.
This includes our vacation rental.
Decide where you want to go
So, where do you want to go?
What you choose in the end may depend on your budget or what time of year you can travel as these affect the end costs. But the best part is that Vacasa offers rentals in hundreds of cities, so good chances are you will be matched with the perfect home at your family’s vacation destination. Need help deciding, you can check out Vacasa’s Summer Travel Trends report!
Choose a good time to go
“A good time to go” depends on your life and your schedule. Plus, when you travel can and will affect the costs of the trip. If you’re choosing the summer season to make your trip, consider how long you’ll go for. We go for a month at a time while friends of ours are more than happy with two weeks (or even a weekend).
Determine Your Budget
A big reason for vacationing is to not only have fun but to relax as a family. When seeking out vacation rentals, we prefer rentals that offer us the chance to still have fun in our temporary location, but that also will give us the chance to bond and just have a great time as a family in our vacation home.
When checking out vacation homes, not only am I looking at prices, but I am looking to see if the price of the property will provide us with the amenities we need to have fun as a family as well! This particular Vacasa rental in Savannah is perfect because it offers an outdoor space for us to “grill & chill”.
