Wilderness At The Smokies: Your Next Family Vacation Getaway!

November 25, 2019 in Travel
Wilderness at the Smokies aracade and indoor rock climbing

Our family was given a two nights complimentary stay at Wilderness at the Smokies in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are 100% our own.

You’ve probably read a ton of blog and travel reviews of Wilderness at the Smokies, so you know already what an amazing place it is! Keep reading to find out why I think it’s the perfect place for your family’s next getaway!

A few weeks ago we packed our bags and headed off for 3 days and 2 nights at the Wilderness at the Smokies, and it was one of the best weekends away as a family that we have had in a while! Having left South Carolina around noon, we arrived before dinner time and were able to check-in and get settled quickly enough to enjoy an evening of relaxing, swimming and exploring the hotel. Wilderness at the Smokies is located in beautiful Sevierville, TN- a beautiful, quiet, and fun destination for families.

Our room located in the River Lodge was a suite that included a kitchenette, queen bed, bunk bed (both in the same room separated by a wall), murphy bed and pull out sofa, living room area with a beautiful fireplace. (River Lodge is the hotel connected to the Wild Waterdome Indoor Waterpark, as well as Lake Wilderness Outdoor Water Park. Salamander Springs Outdoor Waterpark is located across the street at Stone Hill Lodge.)

Being a family of 7, this was a perfect room for us! So often when we travel we have to get separate rooms, so this was a welcome change for us! This meant that I could sit in the “living room” area and watch tv and work while the children napped in the bedroom, with no worries about disturbing anyone!

About the resort

The resort features 234 Stone Hill guest rooms; 472 River Lodge suites and 7 Villas; an always 84-degree, year-round indoor waterpark; two seasonal outdoor waterparks; an indoor family entertainment center; a variety of dining and shopping options; a 36-hole championship golf course; and more than 200,000 square feet of meeting and convention space.

The indoor waterpark features several swimming areas, splash zones, and indoor water slides.

Wild WaterDome is Tennessee’s Largest Indoor Waterpark.  Wild WaterDome features a see-through roof that will weather-proof your vacation and give you the opportunity to relax inside all year long with 84-degree year-round temperatures.

There is also a 25,000 square-foot Adventure Forest, located at River Lodge: Tree Top Towers, a three-story ropes course with cargo nets, and balance beams; Mount Wild, a 23-foot indoor rock climbing wall; Howlin’ Hound Dog Alley miniature bowling; as well as the family-friendly arcade The Adventure Forest Mega Arcade!

If you are looking for a fun getaway for your family’s next vacation, I highly recommend giving Wilderness at the Smokies a try!
